It all depends a lot on trial and error I guess. There're sites with suggested colour palettes I think.
I'm being a bit quiet, cos either I'm away, or my internet's wonky.

talkin bout all this [insert colour name]-ish makes this comment site sound like an interior designers discussion board...at least to my eyes :P but alternatively, is it possible for brother-10 to post the bg pic at the top of the blog as some sort of template/poster thingy? that way wont have to worry so much bout colours. although i still find it eerie that Jo suggested turqoise
